Ayl is placed in the romantic Saar valley situated below the world-famous “Ayler Kupp“.
Here you do not just find calm and rest, you also find a various offer of activities like cycling, hiking, riding , tennis, trips with the covered wagon and bowling. You can also hire the modern grill upon the Mohlemskopf for events or parties.

You are given the opportunity of playing Beach-Volleyball, playing crazy golf or doing water sports with the canoe or the motor boat at the ”leisure park Saar“ in the opposite placed village called Schoden.

Saarburg – the close placed historic town – offers a lot of activities like shipping, open-air swimming pool, indoor swimming pool, bird park, museums, summer toboggan run, chair lift, skating, diving, sightseeing tour with the ”Saartal” train, guided tours, fitness, library, skittles alley, sport boat harbour and dance locations.

With being situated central , Ayl is perfect for trips to Saarburg (4 km), Trier (20 km), Mettlach (20 km), Idar-Oberstein (65 km), Luxemburg (14) or to Metz (80 km).

fishing
Fishing opportunities are given at the Saar. Fishing licenses can be taken at the civil bureau of the municipal administration Saarburg, Schlossberg 6-8, 55439 Saarburg, phone: +49(0) 6581-81300.
The deposit of fishes in the Saar is very various, there are e.g. eels, Brassen, Rotaugen, Flussbarsch und Zander.

cycling
Ayl is placed among an attractive cycling-path net. There are excellently built up and path breaking cycle tracks in the scenic river valleys of the Saar and of the Mosel, far-off the traffic. Varied excursions to Trier, to the “Saarschleife“ in Mettlach, to the Obermosel or to the Sauer are ideal.

Tipp: On the 3rd Sunday in may, there is the adventurous day „Saar-Pedal“ without any traffic, from Konz to Merzig.

Hiking
Ayl is placed in the nature park Saar-Hunsrück. Well path breaking walkways go through vineyards, around the “Ayler Kupp“ or to the around ling villages.
The 2,5 km long green path with information boards of the local use of the soil and about conservation and attention of the cultural landscape goes from the grill Ayl, above the “Mohlemskopf” to the holiday park Warsberg in Saarburg
